06/27/08 - Director of Music, Covina United Methodist Church, 437 W. San Bernardino Road, Covina, CA 91723.  Job requirements: Bachelors in music, three years directing adults, knowledge of church music and hymnology; 15-20 hours per week, directing adult choir and overseeing other choirs. 06/27/08 - Accompanist for thriving choral program in Moreno Valley. Part-time as needed, but could lead to more hours if the right person is identified. Travel with choral ensemble is FREE and will include a performance at Carnegie Hall in the spring of 2009. Must have experience accompanying classical choral music, jazz, pop, and musical theater. 06/27/08 - Nordhoff High School (Ventura County) is currently seeking a Choral Director to teach mixed choir and women's choir. Candidates must possess a valid California Single Subject Credential in Music. The music department is supported by a full-time secretary. Currently the district is offering a 40% position at the high school. However, there is a great possibility that it will be funded at 80%-100% with work at the feeder schools. The Ojai Unified School District is currently expanding its music and arts offerings throughout all grade levels with the numbers growing exponentially in elementary and junior high. 06/13/08 - Chapman University, Faculty Position - Director of Choral Activities. Description: This is a tenure-track, full-time position at the rank of Assistant Professor, which will begin in August 2009. The Director of Choral Activities coordinates and supervises all choral activities within the Conservatory of Music. This may include conducting two university choral ensembles, an opera chorus, teaching courses in choral conducting, and supervision of adjunct choral faculty. Active recruitment for the conservatory is essential. Involvement in conservatory and university committees is expected. Qualifications: Doctorate is preferred; Master’s degree is required. Extensive experience as a conductor at the national professional and university levels is essential along with a successful record of recruitment. Secondary music education teaching experience is desirable. Expectations: The successful candidate will be expected to assume an active leadership role in the recruitment and retention of students. Thorough knowledge and understanding of the preparation of college-level undergraduates is essential. The Conservatory of Music is part of the College of Performing Arts and consists of fifteen full-time faculty members and approximately fifty-one adjunct instructors. With an established reputation for both academic and performance excellence, the Conservatory of Music has a music major population of approximately 220, with many non-majors also participating in its programs. 06/13/08 - The Westchester United Methodist Church has a part-time position opening for a Director of Music Ministry for Children and Youth. We envision a music ministry involving children and youth in special presentations, worship celebrations, and other settings. 04/03/08 - Elementary School General Music Teacher - The Fallbrook Union Elementary School District places a high priority on music instruction. A top goal of our District Strategic Plan is to implement Visual and Performing Arts instruction to all students at every school site. 02/13/08 - There will be an opening in the Fall of 2008 for a choral music teacher at Woodrow Wilson Middle School in Glendale, California. Wilson has a student body of approximately 1200 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Currently the schedule for this job is a 6/7th treble (girls) chorus, an 8th grade treble (girls) chorus, and a boys chorus with 6-7-8th grade boys. In addition to that there are two general music wheel classes where students rotate in every 8 or 9 weeks.  Wilson Middle School is a very desirable school in which to work in Glendale School District. Salary levels are competitive and benefits are excellent in the district. 01/21/08 - The Antelope Valley Children's Chorus is seeking a new Music Director starting next season. The A.V.C.C. is a part of the Community Education Department of A.V. Community College, with approximately 70 singers in 3 choirs (Beginning Chorus, ages 8-12; Advanced Choir, ages 11-14 and Youth Chorale, ages 14-17). Each choir meets one day a week, the two youngest on Mondays and the oldest on Thursday. We perform locally and we have been hired for quite a few events. 01/03/08 - Full-time tenure track position for Choral Director at the Department of Music at Irvine Valley College. Duties and responsibilities include: Direct the college's choral ensembles, develop curriculum, coordinate choral and vocal concert schedules and manage related budgets. Develop publicity and recruit for choral music program. Conduct college choirs; other instructions may include group vocal instruction and general education courses in music.
