11/03/2022 - Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Santa Ana is seeking a Minister of Worship and Music (MWM). We are a vibrant Christian community of about 1300 multi-generational members in the heart of Orange County. Regular weekly worship consists of four on-site Sunday morning services: two blended and two contemporary, with around 900 weekly worshipers. In addition, there is a casual "Street Church" worship service held at various locations within the local community. The music ministry includes six vocal choirs, three handbell choirs, multiple worship bands, and various soloists and instrumentalists.

The position is full-time exempt, salaried with benefits. Hours include Sundays, Christmas Eve, Thanksgiving, Holy Week, plus meetings and rehearsals in the evening and on occasional Saturdays.

10/25/2022 - Mesa Verde United Methodist Church (a Reconciling Ministry Congregation), located at 1701 Baker Street in Costa Mesa, CA is currently seeking an accompanist for our Sunday morning worship services and Thursday evening rehearsals. The congregation has a long history of a strong music program. The Chancel Choir is a delight, and wonderful to work with.
The position requires skill on the piano (including sight-reading and improvisational abilities). Applicants should be well-versed in SATB traditional and modern choral church music, major works, gospel music, and a variety of other musical genres appropriate for Christmas and Spring Concerts, as well as other musical events. Additionally, organ experience is preferable.
Chancel Choir rehearses Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30, and Sunday mornings from 8:30-9:15 (Worship is from 9:30-11:15). The successful candidate will also accompany small vocal groups and soloists from time to time. The sanctuary’s instruments are a grand piano and a Rogers hybrid (pipe/electronic) organ.

10/11/2022 - Laguna Beach USD K-12 Vocal Music Teacher -- This position will coordinate the District s K-5 choral music program, ensuring standards-aligned instruction and providing direction to the Music Paraeducator who delivers the lessons each day. This individual selected for this position will also co-teach musical theatre courses at the middle, teach the musical theatre class at the high school, support the musical theatre productions, and develop potential future programs to support student interest in vocal music. 10/08/2022 - St. Paul s Lutheran Church in Rancho Palos Verdes would like to fill the part time position of Organist/Choir Director. The salary is $28,000 per year and requires providing music for our single Sunday morning service and for services on church holidays, as well as conducting our small choir. Our organist will use our 2016 Allen Bravura III/58 (model L-342) organ and a Steinway Grand Piano to enhance our worship. We are looking for someone who possesses high quality performance skills on organ and piano; is proficient in playing hymns, liturgical music and prepared music suitable for preludes, postludes, and special music; and has experience in choir direction and working with amateur singers. Applicants should also have excellent interpersonal and communications skills to be able to work with the pastor, congregation, and staff in an effective, positive, and persuasive manner. 09/16/2022 -- La Jolla United Methodist Church in La Jolla, CA has an immediate part-time opening for a soprano Section Leader. Duties include weekly choir rehearsals on Thursday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30pm and one service on Sunday mornings at 10:00am. Section leader will lead sectional rehearsals, sing solos when needed, two services for Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday. Total of three hours per week. Weekly rate currently is $110. 08/06/2022 -- Chadwick School is seeking a Vocal Music Director to support two school theatre productions this coming year: the Upper School musical in the winter and the Middle School musical in the spring.

Auditions for the Upper School Musical will be on October 13-14, 2022 in the afternoon and evening. Rehearsals will begin the week of November 17, 2022 in the afternoons. Performances will be February 23-25, 2023.

Auditions for the Middle School Musical will be on March 3/9, 3/13, and 3/14. Rehearsals will begin on March, 15, 2023. Performances will be June 2-3, 2023.

The Musical Director will work closely with Chadwick s Director of Theatre to oversee all vocal music aspects of a musical theatre production, including supporting the casting of performers, rehearsing singers, and conducting the pit orchestra in performance.

ASSOCIATED RESPONSIBILITIES
Vocal Director for the annual Upper School and Middle School musical Collaborate closely with the creative team to create a joyful, high-quality production.
Conduct/Direct a small, largely professional pit orchestra in the Upper School musical production
Be on campus at times determined by the Director of US or MS Theater on rehearsal days and during productions (afternoons and some evenings);
The Director of US or MS Theater will assign days and times for rehearsal and provide a schedule. Schedule may be subject to change. Hours may be flexible based on production needs.

07/10/2022 -- St. Andrew Community Presbyterian Church is looking for a part-time Director of Music to lead our Chancel Choir on Sundays. We are seeking a candidate who can combine both traditional hymns and choir performances with more contemporary songs to create a blended music experience. The Director would be in charge of choral selections, teaching the congregation new songs, leading weekly rehearsals, and supervising an accompanist and bell choir director. Salary rate is $1500 per month with approximately 6 to 10 hours of work per week. We are willing to negotiate as to a number of Sundays per year and/or summers off.

07/03/2022 - Our Saviour s Lutheran Church in Orange would like to fill the position of a part time Organist/Pianist. The salary is $14K per year and has a very minimal time requirement (Sundays/Wednesdays). Applicants must be adept at the piano and organ, a proficient sight reader, capable of improvisation, and skilled at accompanying. Proficiency in performing of a wide range of music including classical, gospel, contemporary styles, and secular music is necessary. An extensive knowledge of organ and piano repertoire is required. A working knowledge of Lutheran liturgy and worship and a theological understanding of church music is strongly recommended. The ability to communicate well and in a friendly manner with fellow staff members and the congregation is a must.
